The day dawned and with trepidation I made my way to the venue. I was OK until I was asked to get to the edge of the building on the scaffolding. Get under the pole they said. I was roped up and was sure I was safe but when they told me to let go I was very nervous. But then, they were taking pictures and all I wanted to do was get it over with. I moved down the building and was really surprised when I was "caught" at the bottom. It was over very quickly. All those sleepless nights!!!

The abseil was delayed due to bad weather but I did eventually do it on 13th April.

I decided to do this abseil last year. I knew the hospice were organising the event and I knew for me it would be a big challenge. I am really scared of heights. When I think about doing it I feel rather nervous, but I know thinking about Dan will help. I will have to take that step "over the edge" without looking down. Once I have started, there is no going back. The only way is down....
