Dan loved watching movies. His favourite Male Movie star was Robert Downey Junior. His friemd Kathy from near Washington DC, sent him a signed picture from RDJ. It was one of his most treasured possesions.
Two of his favourite female stars were Sandra Bullock and Sigourney Weaver. Kathy tried in vain to get signed pictures from them both, after having successfully obtained the one from Robert Downey Junior. She was unsuccessful despite repeated attempts. She was so disappointed. Mark, Dan's friend the actor, was however, with his contacts, able to obtain one from Sigourney Weaver. I'll never forget the day he gave the picture to Dan. Poor Dan was in hospital and was busy eating his dinner when Mark arrived with the picture, duly wrapped up. Dan said a quick hello to him but continued to finish his meal. As soon as he had finished, he said hello properly to his friend. Mark gave Dan the wrapped picture, I wish I had a camera to have captured the look on his face when he unwrapped the present. He was so thrilled. Sadly, he only lived for a few more weeks after this event, but it had cheered his so much to receive it.
